B.Sc.(Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics)- Stands for Bachelor of Science (Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics). This is typically a three year Degree course established in year 2000.
Eligibility for this course is Intermediate (10+2) in science (with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/or Mathematics). Clinical nutrition and dietetics is the study of the relationship between the body and food.
For admission in a bachelor’s degree, the candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject with at least 45% marks.
Programme overview
Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics programme has been specifically designed for students with a strong interest in food, people, science medicine and who wish to use their knowledge to help, prevent and treat disease as a Dietitian.
Dietetics is the interpretation and communication of science of nutrition to enable people to make informed and practical choices about food and lifestyle, in both Health and Disease. This may be aimed at the general public to promote health, or in a clinical environment to treat a wide range of medical disorders.
Students of C.N.D are trained in hospitals and community settings as a part of their courses.
This programme will give the knowledge and skills to respond to the diverse needs of patients, families and society within a variety of settings.
Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics programme focus on : Clinical services, Public health/community nutrition, Food services, Wellness/Disease prevention, Nutrition research.
